How Agentic Blue handles AI and candidate data

A CV is personal data under the Personal Data Protection Acts of Malaysia and Singapore. This page says what we keep, where it is kept, and what AI is allowed to do with it. Written as plain claims you can hold us to.

Last reviewed

  • Hosted in Singapore

Candidate records live in a database in Singapore.

  • Consent, word for word

Kept with each application, in the language the applicant read: English or Bahasa Malaysia.

  • No automatic rejections

AI ranks and explains. A person decides.

  • Your pool is yours

No other company can see or search it. Shared Profiles, if you use it, shares only public LinkedIn results and public career facts from company and news pages.

What we keep, and for how long

Your workspace can set a retention limit. Candidates past it are listed for an admin to review and delete; nothing is deleted on its own.

What AI does, and what it does not

AI does

  • Read each CV against the job’s must-haves, with the CV line behind each one.
  • Suggest past applicants from your own talent pool.
  • Draft job descriptions, summaries and messages for you to edit.

AI does not

  • Turn anyone down. Only a person on your team can.
  • Send a message on its own. You send every message, apart from emails you switch on, such as asking an applicant for a missing CV.
  • Share your candidates with another company.

To read CVs and write drafts, text is sent to third-party AI providers, which can be outside Malaysia. Applicants are told on your apply page that AI reads their CV.

AI Interviewer

When a workspace uses the AI Interviewer

The AI Interviewer is a module. Where a workspace switches it on, this is what candidates are told, what the interviewer, Blue, may decide, and where interview data goes.

What candidates are told, before the first question

Before an interview starts, every candidate reads three points:

  • they will be interviewed by an AI assistant, not a person;
  • their answers are recorded as a written transcript and summarised, and the hiring team can read the whole conversation (a Video interview also records the camera, and the candidate is told so before agreeing);
  • it takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and they can stop at any point.

They then tick a box confirming they understand the interview is conducted by an AI and that their answers will be shared with the hiring team. The box starts unticked, and the interview cannot begin without it. What candidates see is also on the page for candidates.

What Blue decides, and what it does not

Blue asks the questions, follows up when an answer is too vague to use, writes a summary, and scores the interview against the criteria the recruiter set, with its reasoning shown.

Blue does not reject anyone. Nothing in the product turns a score into a rejection. The recruiter reads the profile and the full transcript, can disagree with any score, and decides who moves forward.

What Blue is deliberately not shown

The role’s must-haves are never given to Blue while it is interviewing. They are used afterwards, to rank and to flag. An interviewer that knows the must-haves during the conversation tends to keep asking a candidate who does not meet them the same thing in different words, which is unfair to the candidate and makes the transcript less honest.

What Blue does not look at

Blue never looks at a face. In a typed interview there is no camera and no video. The employer sets the format for each opening; the candidate can always switch to typing. Where an employer chooses a Voice interview, the candidate’s speech is turned into text and the text is what Blue reads; no voice recording is kept. Where an employer offers a Video interview, the camera is recorded for the hiring team to watch back, kept for 30 days and then deleted, and Blue is never given a frame of it: the words are still all it reads. Face, background and appearance are never scored, in any mode.

When Blue reads a candidate’s CV during the interview, personal identifiers are removed first: IC and passport numbers, bank details, contact details, date of birth, address, and details such as race, religion, marital status and age that Malaysian CVs often include.

Where interview data is stored and processed

Candidate records and interview transcripts are stored in a database hosted in Singapore. To write Blue’s replies and summaries, interview text is processed by third-party AI model providers, and dictated audio by a speech-to-text provider, which may process it outside Malaysia. To classify candidates’ answers, their messages and the state of the interview are also processed by Jev, a service operated at api.typesafe.ai.

An interview is visible to the hiring team on the employer account that created the role. The employer that invites a candidate decides how that application is handled, so a candidate’s questions about their details, or requests to remove them, should go to that employer first.

When an employer deletes an opening, every candidate on it is deleted with it. A short record that the opening was deleted is kept: its title, its number, the reason given, and who deleted it and when, with no candidate details. That record is kept for 6 years, then removed automatically.

What we do not claim

We do not claim the product is free of bias; no screening method can honestly say that. We do not publish security certifications today. And this page is a description of how the product works, not a privacy policy or legal advice.

The questions worth asking any AI interviewer, including this one, are in is an AI screening interview fair to the candidate?

Questions about this page

Email hello@agenticblue.ai with a question about how Blue handles interviews or data. A candidate asking about their own details should start with the employer that invited them, as set out above.
