What an AI recruiter is
An AI recruiter is software that does the repetitive part of a recruiter’s first round. Instead of reading two hundred CVs and phoning each applicant with the same questions, the software collects the applications, reads every CV against the job’s must-haves and hands a person a ranked list with the reasons behind it. Some can also hold the first conversation with everyone.
It is not a recruitment agency. Search for an AI recruiter in Malaysia and many results are agencies that place people in AI and technology jobs. An AI recruiter in the software sense is a tool your own team uses for any role, from retail assistants to customer service, and the candidates and their answers stay with you.
It can be your applicant tracking system. An ATS stores applicants and moves them through stages; an AI recruiter also reads what each applicant sent and says who is worth a call. Agentic Blue does both: every applicant in one list, stages through to Hired, and everyone who applied kept in a talent pool for the next job.
What Agentic Blue does in the first round
- Writes the job posting. Paste a job description or a few lines about the role, and the JD Builder Agent drafts the posting. You set the must-haves that matter.
- Collects every application. Applications arrive by themselves from Jobstreet application emails and the job’s own apply page, and you can upload the CVs you already have.
- Reads every CV. Each CV is read against the job’s must-haves, with the CV line behind each one, summarised and put in order.
- Interviews applicants, if you want it to. With the AI Interviewer module switched on, candidates open the job’s link on their phone and answer whenever they are free, typed by default or by voice or video. Blue asks about relevant experience, expected salary, notice period and availability, and follows up when an answer is too vague to use. Before Blue reads a CV during the interview, IC and passport numbers, contact details, date of birth, address, race, religion, marital status and age are taken out. How the interview works for candidates in Malaysia is on the AI interviewer page.
- Ranks the shortlist. Every applicant is ranked against your criteria with the reasoning shown, and where Blue interviewed them, AI Ranking scores the transcript too. See a complete example report.
- Hands it to your team. Invite colleagues into the same workspace and send the shortlist to the hiring manager as one link they answer. Re-Rank re-orders the list on a new instruction, and every message and note stays on the candidate’s profile.
What it does not decide
The AI does not reject anyone. It reads, ranks and explains, and a person on your team decides who moves forward. Where Blue interviews, candidates are told before the first question that they are talking to an AI and have to agree before the interview starts. What is stored, where, and what we do not claim is on the trust page.
Where an AI recruiter fits, and where it does not
It fits openings that draw more applicants than a recruiter can call: retail, food and beverage, hospitality, logistics, contact centres and security services, and situations such as festive peaks, shift work and graduate intakes. What the first round has to establish in each is set out by industry and by hiring situation.
- It starts with the people who apply. Jobstreet application emails, your apply page and CVs you upload, with past applicants suggested from your talent pool. Tools that search job portals for CVs do a different job; one is compared in Agentic Blue vs OPAL.
- It does not connect to another ATS. It is one itself and publishes no integrations, so a team that keeps its current ATS copies the shortlist across.
- The interview is typed by default. Where how someone speaks or looks on camera is the job, or for a senior hire where the first conversation is also a pitch, a voice or video interview, or a person, is the better first round.
What it costs
Agentic Blue is invitation only and priced per seat, agreed with you after your request for access is approved. Hiring managers and candidates never use a seat; what a seat includes is on the pricing page, and the screening cost calculator shows what a manual first round costs in recruiter hours.
Other AI recruiting tools in Malaysia
The software sold as AI recruitment in Malaysia does several different jobs: job platforms, applicant tracking systems, CV scoring and sourcing, and AI interviewers. AI recruitment software in Malaysia sorts them by the problem each solves, and the best AI interviewer tools in Malaysia compares eight, including ours. What each way of screening candidates misses is on candidate screening software for Malaysia.
Questions employers ask
What is an AI recruiter?
Software that runs the repetitive part of a first round of hiring: it drafts the job posting, collects the applications, reads every CV against the must-haves and ranks applicants for a person to review. Some, Agentic Blue among them, can also hold a first interview with each applicant.
Is an AI recruiter the same as a recruitment agency?
No. A recruitment agency is a company that finds candidates for you, usually for a fee per hire. An AI recruiter is software your own team uses for its own openings, and the candidates and their answers stay with you.
Will an AI recruiter replace my recruiters?
It takes over the first round, so recruiters spend their time on the shortlist, the later interviews and the offer. With Agentic Blue, a person decides who moves forward.
Does Agentic Blue find candidates for me?
It starts with the people who apply: Jobstreet application emails, your own apply page and CVs you upload. For each new job it also suggests past applicants from your talent pool.
How much does an AI recruiter cost in Malaysia?
Agentic Blue is invitation only and priced per seat, agreed with you after your request for access is approved. Hiring managers who answer a shortlist link, and candidates, never use a seat.
Can candidates answer in Malay or Chinese?
In the AI Interviewer, yes. Blue starts in English, and candidates can answer in Malay or Chinese. The transcript keeps each answer as the candidate wrote it.
