HireVue alternatives in Malaysia: 8 options compared (2026)

HireVue is built for global enterprises, and most Malaysian employers looking at it want something smaller, easier for candidates, or priced where they can see it. The alternatives differ most in what they ask the candidate to do.

Why Malaysian employers look for a HireVue alternative

HireVue is one of the largest names in video interviewing. It offers one-way and live video interviews, a voice-based AI interviewer, a website chat agent and skills and game-based assessments, and says 40% of the Fortune 100 use it. It publishes no prices: its plans run from Essential to Premium, and the route in is a demo. The interview languages it names are French, English, Spanish and Portuguese, “and more”.

The usual reasons to look elsewhere are:

  • Price. You want to know what screening costs before a sales process.
  • Candidates. Volume applicants often apply on a phone, between shifts, with no quiet room for a video.
  • Language. Malay is not among the languages HireVue names.
  • Scale. A platform sized for global enterprises is a lot to buy for a few roles a month.

Languages and pricing are as each vendor publishes them. “On request” means no price was on the website.

1. Agentic Blue

Blue runs the first-round interview in a typed chat by default, or by Voice or Video where the employer sets it. A recruiter describes the role in a sentence, the JD Builder Agent writes the posting and the screening questions, and each candidate gets a link, with no account or app. Blue asks about experience, expected salary, notice period and availability, follows up on vague answers, and AI Ranking scores each finished interview against the recruiter’s criteria, with its reasoning and the full transcript. Blue does not reject anyone. It covers the first round of recruiting only, and what that includes is on our AI recruitment platform page.

Pricing: Agentic Blue publishes its prices in ringgit and charges for what you run: RM 3.10 a typed interview, RM 0.55 a minute for voice or video (about RM 5.50 for a 10-minute one), and the first 3 typed interviews each month free. Top up from RM 50.00; there is no seat fee and no subscription.

Where it falls short against HireVue: it is text only, so you will not hear the candidate, and it publishes no ATS integrations, assessments or security certifications.

2. KitaHQ

KitaHQ runs AI video interviews that candidates complete in a browser without an app, with resume screening, behavioural and communication assessments, and automated reminders around them. Recruiters get a report with scores, a transcript and the recording. It lists more than ten languages, handles answers that mix them, and has offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta.

Pricing: not published. KitaHQ says its cost per interview falls at higher volumes.

Worth knowing: of the alternatives here, it is the closest to HireVue’s mix of video and assessments, at a regional scale.

3. NAX Ai Interviewer

NAX Ai Interviewer, from a Kuala Lumpur software company, is a voice-first interview with the camera on throughout. The AI follows up on vague answers, the session is recorded in one take, and tab switches, copy-paste and multiple faces are logged as integrity checks. The employer gets a Pass, Review or Fail verdict with the transcript and recording. It lists more than 125 languages and accents, including a Malay and English mix.

Pricing: a one-time setup fee plus a monthly plan based on candidate volume. Its pages’ structured data lists plans from RM150 a month.

Worth knowing: NAX builds the question bank from your job description and leaves the salary conversation to your team. How its spoken interview compares with a text one is in Agentic Blue vs NAX Ai Interviewer.

4. Interviewer.AI

Interviewer.AI is based in Singapore and built around one-way video interviews that it scores and summarises. The higher plan adds conversational interviews led by an AI avatar, with fraud checks. It also screens resumes and lists more than ten languages.

Pricing: published in US dollars. Essential is USD 199 a month for 50 interview credits and Professional USD 399 a month for 120, each with a 14-day free trial. Enterprise, with ATS integrations, is quoted.

Worth knowing: the avatar interviews and AI summaries are on Professional, not Essential.

5. wowintro

wowintro is a one-way video interview tool set up in October 2014 for HR teams in Malaysia, and its homepage shows Malaysian client logos. Candidates record short video answers, and employers sort them by job fit.

Pricing: published in US dollars. Basic is USD 99 a month for 20 video credits, with a 14-day free trial; Advanced is USD 199 a month for 50; Premium is USD 499 a month for 200. Enterprise is quoted, and yearly billing costs less.

Worth knowing: it does not state its interview languages, or whether its job fit sorting uses AI. Ask both.

6. Sapia.ai

Sapia.ai runs a chat-based structured interview. Candidates type their answers, and Sapia analyses only the text, with a scoring engine that explains its reasoning. It lists English, Spanish, French, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, German, Italian and Swedish.

Pricing: not published. Sapia says it charges per hire, so you pay for the people you end up hiring.

Worth knowing: it is the closest in format to Agentic Blue, but Malay is not among its languages and its site names no Southeast Asian presence.

7. Willo

Willo collects recorded video, audio, written and file answers in any browser, and its AI features transcribe, summarise, benchmark and suggest follow-up questions. It says it keeps people in control of every hiring decision, and lists more than 18 languages.

Pricing: published in pounds. Willo Lite is £49 per live role a month, for up to five live roles and 150 assessed candidates per role, with no contract. Enterprise starts at £2,999 a year.

Worth knowing: there is no free plan, and pay-per-live-role pricing suits a few roles at a time better than dozens.

8. Neufast

Neufast runs recorded video interviews with an interview bot asking structured behavioural questions in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Thai. It says the recorded videos are analysed for facial, vocal and textual information, and produces a competency report. It has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Vienna, and quotes a Malaysian customer using it since 2020.

Pricing: not published. Neufast offers a trial and a quotation.

Worth knowing: scoring from faces and voices is the hardest part of this technology to justify. Ask how its scores are validated, and see is an AI screening interview fair to the candidate?

When HireVue is still the right choice

Stay with HireVue if you need one platform for video, live and voice interviews plus assessments, across many countries, with the security certifications and applicant tracking integrations an enterprise review asks for. None of the alternatives above matches that whole list. A direct comparison with Agentic Blue is in Agentic Blue vs HireVue.

How to choose

Start with the format. Text reaches the most applicants; video and voice tell you how people speak. The trade-offs are in AI video interviews or chat interviews.

Work out the cost per completed screening, in ringgit, from each vendor’s own currency and credits.

Test Malay with real answers, not a languages list.

Ask what you get back, and whether it rejects anyone on its own. More options are in the 8 best AI interviewer tools in Malaysia.
